In addition to the main conference, we are pleased to offer you the following program of social activities. This will provide opportunities to interact with attendees while discovering more the city of Lyon and tasting French wine and food.

1 - Wine Tasting :

For the opening gala evening, the MEDES’09 local organizing committee invites you to visit the wine cellar at Lachassagne Castle to taste local wines.

Lachassagne Castle is an old manor dating back to the Middle Ages that was destroyed during the Revolution. The Estate was sold several times until the Eighteenth century when it passed into the hands of the Rochechouart Mortemart family who rebuilt on the ruins of the medieval castle.

Lachassagne castle proposes several wines:bottle

    • “Les jeunes vignes” (youthful grapevine)
    • “Viognier and Syrah”
    • “Beaujolais”
    • “Bourgogne”

     

    During the visit, you will enjoy a beautiful panorama of the Saône river and the Beaujolais plains. You will taste 4 wines (2 red wines and 2 white wines) from the Castle’s wine cellar.

    In a 3 hectare greenery setting, “Le Clos des Varennes” provides an excellent opportunity to appreciate French gastronomy.

    Extra Conference Event

    3 - Dinner cruise on Saône river (Extra Event)

    As an extra event, MEDES'09 proposes a cruise dinner aboard the Hermes Restaurant Boat. Boarded along the Rhône river, the Hermes offers a magical discovery of Lyon from both the Rhône and Saône rivers.
